Calm over cold
Monk exists because the world has a nervous system problem. Anxiety, burnout, poor sleep and chronic stress all wear different labels, but they share the same root cause: we live in a world our biology was never designed for.
Cold exposure is one of the few practices that reliably trains the nervous system. But somewhere along the way, it became an endurance challenge. Colder. Longer. Tougher. We reject this.
At Monk, we have a different philosophy: the cold isn’t the goal – it’s the training environment. You’re there to practise staying calm when your body wants to panic.
And that practice doesn’t end when you step out of the water. It ripples into every part of your life – the boardroom, the school run, the difficult conversation, the sleepless night. The calm you cultivate in the cold becomes the calm you carry everywhere else.
That’s why we design beautiful tools for uncomfortable growth. Not to help people become better at being cold, but to help them become calmer, healthier and more resilient.
Built by someone who needed it
From Laura Fullerton, founder and CEO
I was the least likely person to fall in love with ice baths – I've always despised the cold. Then in 2018 - when I was a stressed out founder running another business - one plunge changed everything. It gave me clarity, focus and energy I'd never experienced. The thing I hated became the thing I couldn't live without.
Getting a regular fix meant frozen horse troughs, ice bags in the bathtub, and a London pond that gave me E.Coli. But access was the small problem. The bigger one: nobody knew how to use cold safely or effectively – women following protocols written for men, people chasing calm copying routines built for muscle recovery. And the market's answer was either a £12,000 ice bath or risking electrocution in DIY builds.
So I built what didn't exist: precision-engineered, protocol-led – and beautiful. When you value your health enough to train it daily, you deserve products that reflect the care you put in.

THE MONK MANIFESTO
Mother Nature doesn’t screw up – we’ve just forgotten what it means to be human.
First it was alarm clocks, then emails, now notifications and algorithms. Prescriptions only paper over the cracks. When we’re not buzzing from caffeine, we’re numbing with nightcaps. We’ve lost here and now to “When?” “What if?” and “Why me?”
But our innate power is still there. Tidal. Glacial. Our biological system that evolved over millions of years is screaming to be heard – we’ve just got to take back control.
It’s time to practice the code for freedom: discipline, focus, and inner strength. This is how we evolve, heal, and reignite the fire in our minds that says: I am going to win. The only thing we fear is being stagnant. If you’ve not felt it, it doesn’t mean it’s not within. It’s waiting for you. But only you can take the first plunge. How bad do you want it? Get naked. Get wet. Embrace pain. Breathe deeper. It’s your turn: submerge to re-emerge.
Built from scratch
Most cold plunges on the market are the same white-label products with a different logo. Same tub, same chiller, same compromises – chosen from a catalogue, not designed for a purpose.
Monk is different.
We spent 2.5 years developing our first product from the ground up, because we believed cold therapy deserved better.
Better insulation for greater efficiency. A smooth, ergonomic shape that’s genuinely comfortable to sit in. Architectural design that complements your home rather than hiding in the garage. Intelligent technology that makes the experience simple enough to become a daily ritual.
Because if we’re asking people to embrace discomfort every day, the product itself should remove every other source of friction.
