KEY FAQs
Does it need to be plumbed in?
No. Cocoon is designed to be simple to set up at home, with no permanent plumbing required. Fill it with a garden hose or the supplied hose, connect Shiver, plug it into a standard power socket and set your temperature. We call it "plug and plunge'.
When it’s time to change the water, you have two easy options: disconnect the hose from Shiver and direct it towards a nearby drain, or attach the spare hose provided and use Shiver to pump the water out for you.
No plumber, no permanent installation.
What's the difference between Shiver & Shiver Pro?
We suggest choosing based on how you’ll use Cocoon – both options are excellent, just designed for different rituals.
- Shiver (cold only): Pure simplicity. A powerful cold-only system that cools Cocoon down to 3°C (or whichever precise temperature you choose). Perfect if you love consistent daily at-home cold plunging. Shiver is not suitable for commercial spaces.
- Hot & Cold (Shiver Pro 1HP): Alongside cooling to 3°C, it can heat your Cocoon up to 40°C - giving you the option to use it as a hot soak as well as a cold plunge. Ideal for shared homes, higher-frequency use.
- Space & placement: Check your available space. The Shiver Pro is larger.
- Budget & future-proofing: Starting with the Shiver gives you a strong cold foundation. If you want to upgrade later, you can.
Can I place Cocoon indoors or outdoors?
Cocoon is built for indoor serenity and outdoor resilience. Its hard-shell body and weatherproof components are suitable for gardens, patios, studios, and home interiors.
What are the dimensions?
Cocoon is 123.5cm (L), 71.5cm (W), 84.5cm (H), designed to fit through standard doorways.
Internally, Cocoon is 60.8cm wide, making it roomy for even the biggest shoulders (wide enough for Anthony Joshua, and it's 2cm wider than Origin, our first product).
The Shiver or Shiver Pro chiller sits beside or behind the tub depending on your layout:

We bet you will! Cocoon is engineered for full-body submersion without curling up, and comfortably fits users up to 6’9” (203cm). Equally, more petite users will still feel comfortable.
When is Cocoon shipping?
All pre-orders are fulfilled strictly in order of purchase. The first batch have already been delivered, and the final units are shipping early October 2026.
We'll agree a delivery date with you in advance, so you'll be in. Our team will position your Cocoon where you want it (home or garden), and take away the packaging.

How fast does it cool or heat?
Cooling and heating times depend on multiple factors like the ambient temperature, but as a guide:
- Shiver Pro: cools 8-10°C per hour, heats 8–9°C per hour
- Shiver: cools 3-4°C per hour
What is the warranty?
The Cocoon tub and Monk chillers come with a 2-year warranty. That’s twice the industry standard – when you build something properly, you stand behind it.
Does Cocoon heat and cool?
It depends on your chiller:
- Shiver (0.3HP): cold-only, down to 3°C.
- Shiver Pro (1HP): hot and cold, 3°C–42°C, perfect for contrast therapy.
Can Cocoon be used in commercial settings?
We have a slightly different spec for Shiver Pro, enabling it to be used in boutique studios, wellness spaces, gyms, spas, and clubs with regular daily use. Please see the Monk For Business page.
